Chiara Lanza is a PhD candidate in sustainable development and climate change at the Institute for Advanced Study IUSS Pavia, Italy, and is currently hosted by the University of Ferrara. She holds a master’s degree in modern languages and literatures from the University of Turin. Chiara’s current research project focuses on representations of endangered environments and environmental injustice in contemporary Anglophone and Francophone works of literature. She is particularly interested in exploring human–soil relations, how they are mirrored in literary texts, and how literature, in turn, can foster soil knowledge and inspire practices of soil care.
