Philipp Kuster, MA

Philipp Kuster studied history at the University of Hamburg and at LMU Munich, where he specialized in the history of science. His MA thesis addressed the relationship between the natural sciences and the humanities at the Eranos conferences in the postwar period. In 2022, he started working on his PhD project,“UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme in the 1970s and 1980s. A New Knowledge Infrastructure for the Environmental Sciences?“ This project, funded by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, studies scientific interaction across disciplinary, geographical, and social boundaries in a research program that aimed to bring the human dimension into ecological research. He joined the doctoral program of the Rachel Carson Center in October 2022.
