Prof. Dr. Kiran Klaus Patel

Since the winter semester 2019/20, Kiran Patel holds the Chair of European History of the 19th and 20th Century at LMU and acts as director of the Project House Europe. Previously he held positions at Maastricht Univesity (2011-2019) and the European Institute in Florence (2007-2011), as well as a Junior Professorship at the Humboldt University Berlin (2002-2007).  Visiting professorships and fellowships have also taken him to FU Berlin, Harvard University, the london School of Economics, the University of Oxford, as well as to Paris at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales. His research and teaching, focus on a plethora of topics in European and US history, with comparative, transnational, and global approaches play a special role.
