Yolanda López-Maldonado Won the 2024 Peter Lang Emerging Scholars Competition

Human ecologist, geographer, and former ProEnviron student Dr. Yolanda López-Maldonado won the 2024 Peter Lang Emerging Scholars Competition in Environmental Humanities with her book proposal “Indigenous Knowledge Explained.” The Peter Lang Emerging Scholars Competition (previously known as the Young Scholars Competition) is an annual competition for early career researchers, hosted by the publisher Peter Lang, which focuses on a different field of research each year. As one of the two winners of the competition, Yolanda receives a contract for a fully funded book, to be published in the new Plants and Animals: Interdiciplinary Approaches book series.
