Doctoral candidate Katrin Kleemann recently published an article in the Environment & Society Portal's Arcadia Spring 2018 collection. “‘Moby Dick’ in the Rhine: How a Beluga Whale Raised Awareness of Water Pollution in West Germany” tells the fascinating story of an arctic whale that found its way into the Lower Rhine, and explores conservation efforts to tackle river pollution.
