Doctoral candidates receive positions in DFG funded projects

Environment and Society doctoral candidates Oliver D. Liebig (Cultural Anthropology) and Martin Meiske (History) received positions as research fellows in two different DFG-Projects.

Oliver's project “The Ikojts and the Wind. Indigenous Perspectives on Renewable Energy in Mexico“ will be supervised by Prof. Eveline Dürr (Cultural Anthropology). The empirical data for the project draws from an 11-month fieldwork in the region of Oaxaca, Mexico, that Oliver conducted from 2013 – 2015.

Martin received a research fellow position in the DFG-Project “The Birth of Geoengineering. Large-Scale Engineering Projects in the Early Stage of the Anthropocene (1850-1950),“ supervised by the Director of the Rachel Carson Center, Prof. Helmuth Trischler (History) and Prof. Wolfram Mauser (Geography).
