Dr. Rebecca Hofmann

Rebecca Hofmann studied cultural anthropology, geography and Spanish philology at the University of Freiburg and in Seville, Spain. She graduated in 2008 with her final thesis on competitive resource strategies of Native Alaskans. During the last two years of her studies, she did research for the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research-funded project entitled “Research for the Sustainable Development of the Megacities of Tomorrow: Energy and Climate-efficient Structures in Urban Growth Centers,” working on the subproject titled “Hyderabad as a Megacity of Tomorrow: Climate and Energy in a Complex Transition towards Sustainable Hyderabad – Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies by Changing Institutions, Governance Structures, Lifestyles and Consumption Patterns.” Currently, she is continuing her research on local risk perception and adaptation strategies to climate change and working on the Climates of Migration project at the RCC.
