Martin Spenger

Dr. Martin Spenger

Martin Spenger studied American cultural studies, American literature, and political economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich. He spent the winter term 2009 at the University of Nottingham, where he was enrolled in American studies as well as in film and television studies. After returning to Munich, he graduated with a MA in 2012. His Master’s thesis was titled Gary Snyder: Umweltaktivist und Zivilisationskritiker. From 2010 to 2012, he worked as a student assistant at the Rachel Carson Center. In autumn 2012 he started his dissertation project entitled Green Beat: An Environmental Biography of Gary Snyder.
