Azeb Worku completed a B.A. and M.A. in geography and environmental studies at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and also received an MSc in environmental sciences from Wageningen University (Netherlands) in 2013. Since 2007, she has taught as a Lecturer at Addis Ababa University in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. Her research interests include Environmental Geography, Ecology & Resource Conservation, Land & Water Management, and Environment & Gender. She is currently working on a dissertation project, entitled “Floriculture industry in Ethiopia and its Impact on the Environment and Socio-economic Implications”. Azeb joined the Rachel Carson Center’s doctoral program “Environment and Society” in October 2014 and is being funded by a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
