Tim Aevermann studied geography, economics and geographical remote sensing at LMU Munich and the University of Adelaide in Australia. In October 2010 he completed his studies with a thesis titled “Development of a Metric for Sustainable Economic Systems: Between Ecology and Economy”. Since March 2011 he has served as a researcher for the Chair of Economic Geography and Tourism Research (Prof. Dr. J. Schmude) in the Department of Geography at LMU Munich. His research focuses on ecological economies, metrics that go beyond GDP and sustainable urban development.

Currently, Tim Aevermann works as the Scientific Assistant to the Director at the Bundesinstitut für Bevölkerungsforschung (Federal Institute for Population Research) in Wiesbaden.
