Pavla Šimková studied English language and literature, and international relations at the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She also studied American cultural history, political science, and English literature at LMU Munich, where she received her MA in 2012. She has been working on the Biographical Dictionary of the Czech Lands at the Collegium Carolinum in Munich since 2011 and as a research associate at the Rachel Carson Center since 2012.
