Martín is currently doctoral candidate at Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society and Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Munich. His research interests include ethnographic studies about landscape, place, curiosity and intimate experiences of science. He has worked on environmental knowledge production and collaboration practices among ornithologist, environmental activists and local communities, focusing on conservation projects in protected forest areas.

His PhD research project on geological explorations and geothermal energy futures in the Andes. He has been following underground (in)visibilities, exploring the politics of evidence and knowledge production ethnographically. Martín joined the Doctoral Program Environment and Society in 2018 and he is funded by a scholarship from the Chilean National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (CONICYT). His articles and collaborations have appeared in AIBR Revista de Antropologia Iberoamericana (2020), Anthropological Theory (2019), Geoforum (2018), Revista Austral de Ciencias Sociales (2018), The Geographical Journal (2017), EURE (2017), Chungara (2017), Revista de Geografia Norte Grande (2018, 2015). He presented on his research in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Sweden and France.
